Trip To Pulau Pinang - (Part 3 -Penang War Museum)


Our second stop is Penang War Museum.  This fortress is located at Batu Maung Hill.  It was built in the 1930's by the British to protect the Penang Island from the invasion of enemies. During World War 2, this fortress came under attacked and fell to the Japanese.  It was then used as Japanese army base where interrogation and torture of prisoners for information.  That is why the local said that the fortress is haunted.

The area is quite big and need to spend about 2 hours to walk and climb. We decided not to further explore the fortress and just took some photo at the entrance.

















Our last stop is the Fisheries Department Research Institute Aquarium.  Next posting...
