Going to Cameron Highlands (CH) is quite a long journey from Kuala Lumpur. Especially if there are many vehicles on the highway and the trunk road between Tapah and Brinchang. This is not-a-plan journey and we decided to shot to CH for a day trip.
Cameron Highlands (CH) is in Pahang and it is one of Malaysia's most popular tourist
destinations, a collection of peaceful townships perched 1500 meters
high on a nest of serene mountains. Cooling resorts, tea plantations and
strawberry farms sprawl lazily across lush valleys and meandering
hillslopes, the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. The sea of
tranquility, pleasant landscapes and cold climate impart a special
experience upon the multitudes of visitors each year.
After exit the Plus highway via Tapah, the trunk road toward CH is quite tough because many narrow and bend roads. Some pavement are quite ok and some very bad making our car bouncing hardly. There are a few landslides construction and need to put extra careful when maneuvering the roads. For bikers, they should look forward to wave their bikes ascending to Tanah Rata and Brinchang and descending back to Tapah. Anyway it is a pleasant journey where we can have a few pit stops.
First at Lata Iskandar Waterfall.
Nice waterfall, if you have extra energy, you can climb up using concrete staircase at both sides of the waterfall.
There are few souvenir shops, food stalls and fruit stall that we can buy fruits like "Pulasan" and "Mangis".
We had second pit stop to eat "Durian", the king of fruit. We bought some local honey and "petai".
The third pit stop is the CH scenery view. Many visitors like to park the vehicles
along the roadside to take photo shot here. A quiet nice and it is one of the
beautiful views i had experienced so far.
For muslim, can have a pit stop to perform solat at Masjid Abu Bakar at Tanah Rata. I mentioned this because it is very hard to get praying places from Tapah to Tanah Rata. Maybe I do not search hard.
The best part when you at the cool place, better find a hot and steamy foods... so we decided to have our final pit stop plus dinner at Ferm Nyonya Steamboat Restaurant, the best steamboat restaurant at Tanah Rata. To find the restaurant, please find Maybank and you can find the steamboat.
The restaurant was full especially during dining hours. Please make a booking first and if not, very hard to get a table. We were lucky because manage to secure a table which the last one available.
Once the stomach full, we drove back and it was quite late and the road is dark and forging.....
The End
