Trip to Pulau Pinang - (Part 2 -Pinang Hill "Bukit Bendera")

Pulau Pinang is a nice place to visit and there were many attraction places and sites can be visited.  Our today trip is to Pinang Hill (Bukit Bendera), War Museum and Fish Museum.

First trip is to Bukit Bendera, there are a big change since my last visit in 1981 with my parents.  The coach train is new and looked modern as compared to the old one.  The fare is reasonable and got package fare for family.

It took us less than 15 minutes to reach to the top (823 meters) above sea level.  By hiking, need about 4 to 5 hours to reach.

Upin & Ipin at Penang Hill??

Since 1923....wow! older by 50 years than me.

Some historical note of Penang Hill

Penang Hill train chronological events.

The train fares...in MYR
Adult -8
Children - 4
Senior Citizen - 4
Student - 4
Family package (2 adult & 2 children) - 18
OKU (Disabled Person) - Free

Some advice... if you do not want to queue up, please come early at 8 am but no guarantee.

Finally we got our tickets.

Walking inside toward the train, it was very nice, feel the cool air from the air-cond.  Some antic and historical photos and miniatures.

After queue up to 15 minutes, the train was arrived.

Going up, the best view is to go to the first row in front next to the train operator booth.

Once we reached up, we did not exit but stayed in the train.  The descending was so fast, I got my ears blocked for a while.

For me, it was a nice and a short journey to the top.  As compared 15 years ago, everything change a lot. Very modern, facilities are very nice and clean.

Next - Penang War Museum
