Happy New Year 2010 & 2009 - full of jumbo-mojo stories

2009 is a year of full surprises, a lot of things and events have happened which really mean something to me. The year that make me know about my strength and weakness. Sometimes things happened because of your action or God will. However, everything is in your hand, whether you want to choose path A or path B. Sometimes it depends on God will and His blessing. Some prays will make it different.

Recent bus accident that killed 10 passengers in Ipoh has touched my heart. 2 families claimed of their losses of the death of their children, not one but two at the same time during the accident. No one can bear the sorrow, pain and loss of the parents.  Sadly, a guy claimed that he and his siblings have lost both their father and mother during the accident.

Just to relate the motion of the feeling, yesterday, I watched a movie but cannot recalled the title, it was about a family who had not celebrated Christmas anymore since the death of their son in a war. His son was killed in the line of duty in Baghdad. The father has said something that really touched me, “I raise my son to be a good person, but I do not raise my son to die”. It was a strong phrase by a father who really heart-broken when the army reps came to his house breaking a news of his son’s death on the Christmas Eve.

I can tell you that the accidents committed by these bus drivers or other drivers are not a new X-file phenomena. These ‘unfortunate’ things have happened many times in past years. I can remember there was an accident where a bus from Kota Bahru to Kuala Lumpur had collapsed near Gua Musang and had killed many passengers. Another one was near the Plaza Tol in Ipoh and many more. Sad to say, who were the sarcastic individual who saying that ‘stringent’ measures must be taken to improve the situation? Where are they now?

The TV news and newspapers currently highlighted, discussed and talked about these accidents. Quick conclusions stated that the bus operators must be punished and their licenses needed to be suspended. Some suggestions said in yesterday Bernama News that the bus drivers are required to take driving skill courses or training and many more improvement ideas. There is a more stupid idea where giving the suggestion that the night trips must be no more. All blames are found to be ‘bull-shitting around the bush’ and does not tackle the root cause of why these accidents are still recurring.

I had discussed with my wife a day after the accident that the public and authority body must understand that all these bus drivers are pushed to work extra hours because their pay are so little. They need to work overtimes to earn extra buck. Because of that, they are so tired and a little nap during driving is a very lethal and can cause fatality.

The Star Newspaper was correct in highlighting the main root cause by narrow down why?  The finding was  bus drivers were found to be so exhausted and their basic pay was RM500. Wow! My maid’s earning is more than that.

The government needs to do something and see the whole big picture how to improve the public transportation and public safety and the life of transport users. Where is the hell this authority body of transportation, Transport Ministry and Minister? Are they “makan gaji buta”? or Are they too busy-body in making own wealth, save their own asses in securing high rank position or political party or taking free flight. Or AWOL during the Najib's budget presentation. Or covering and bull-shitting some issues, nonsense-talk in TV, busy in making magic in AGM, EGM, PKFZ or anymore ‘abbreviation’ that can cheer us up.

Knock! Knock! Basic human needs! Please take cares these bus drivers, taxi drivers and other public servant drivers.  So called "lower-income people".  They need money to buy goods that are currently very very expensive.  There is a Minister that I find him very stupid and zero-brain when making statement when talking about the price of control goods, opening of Hyper Market, and the "Minyak Masak" subsidy.  He just simply said something that are totally rubbish; better to open more Hyper Market and let the small grocery store or shops died if they cannot compete with Hyper Market.  Hoooi?  Can't you see there are a lot of grocery stores who earn 'cheput' because of your stupid rules and regulations. Open your eyes and see how suffer this shopper operators to earn for living.  They do not take any "RASUAH" or "DUIT HARAM" to earn some money to support their families. Give them some empathy! Authority body only knows how to set rules and punish people. Talk about these taxi drivers, why do they not use meter in charging passengers? How much they earn a day to pay the taxi rental, fuel and other mean of cost as taxi driver profession. Who is the culprit in monopoly the taxi license distribution?

I am not a very political person and I do not side to any political party, the only thing in my mind is how do we secure a better life today and can earn some money to survive. Pay bills, house, car, grocery, children education, holiday and more and more. If the current government now want to improve the trust of these young people or "lower income people" in the next election, I pray hard that you need to do a ‘magic’ in getting the trust. Some of you turn yourself damn so rich until your great-great-great grandchildren cannot finish expense the wealth that you earn today. This is a general statement to those who take “RASUAH” or 'DUIT HARAM" or any kind of “INCENTIVE” that had made other people miserable. “RASUAH” is totally disgrace of act that cursed by ISLAM.

In Al-Quran, interest is prohibited because it burdened people financially and poorly and make some other people rich. Al-Quran is a holy Muslim book and it is ever-green that can be apply in past, present and future. In my opinion, “RASUAH” is a part of interest where the act will ruin the faith and integrity of a person. His/ her action in taking “RASUAH” will make other people in pain. Example, pay “RASUAH” to get a contract, you will get the contract, the person who entitle to get the contract will suffer. Since you are not the right people to do the work, the work is not completed on time. Your contract will be terminated. You and your staff will suffer because do not get full payment. The company will suffer since the work has not been completed on time or has not met the standard. The company will re-engage with other contractor to re-do the work. The company will suffer losses due to extra budget, the staff of the company will suffer due to no increment or bonus. There are chain-reaction effects that impact everybody.

Just take an example in Terengganu and known as Terengganu Darul Iman. But some people told me that now it is known as Terengganu Darul 'RASUAH'. Can you imagine how the oil royalty fund has not been used for the good of Terengganu people, especially the poor and needy.  It is devastating when I read news that people begging for financial aids due to health problems, and insufficient fund to do operation, surgery especially young baby.  Some people want to be quick-rich by doing magic. The quality of the work done was terrible and you can witness the collapse of Stadium Gong Badak’s roof and other more similar cases.

But not going to far, I can tell my disappointment of all jumbo-mojo stories in my country now. There is one that really made me wondering whether we are living in the Peter Pan’s Never Land. How in the earth that the huge jet engine, not one but two were found to be ‘disappeared’ by the Army in their store? I think may be Tinkerbell give assistance to the culprit to use her magic powder to make the jet engine move from one secured place to another secured place without no one notice for the last one year. HA HA Ha Ha ha ha ha.. Merry Christmas and A HAPPY NEW YEAR from Jarienam.

Stress Management Program - 4 Techniques in Managing Stress

From 14 to 15 December 2009, I attended a Stress Management Program conducted by Global Training Consultant in Genting View Resort. It was an internal training program organised by my company and all 65 participants from my company attended the course. Most of them are HODs and Branch Managers.
Just to share with you some of our experiences.

Stress particularly happens to a person who experiences conflicting or mutiple, important demands that are beyond their ability to cope.  There are bad stress and good stress.  Managing stress is all about taking charge of your thoughts, emotions, feeling, and the way you deal with the problems. Some people handling the stress by converting them into opportunity. The ultimate goal is how to hold up under pressure, manage them and meet the challenges head on.

Twilight- A Simple Myth Romance Story

My wife and I accidentally watched this movie called Twilight in Astro Movie. It is a love story between a human and a vampire. The story was about a high school girl “Bella” who had to stay with her father in a small town called Folk. Then she got attracted with this handsome guy “Edward” who is one of her classmates. Edward is a ‘good’ vampire who lives with a group of vampire family and they did not suck human blood except animals. But anyway, the story lines were quite good and touching and make sense.  The cinematography is nice and pleasant escpecially when they flying, climbing on the trees and and standing in treetop sideseeing the view.

The early 15 minutes was so boring.  When after the truth of who Edward was, has been prevailed to Bella, the story was started to attract the audience eyes and begun interesting.  Came the moment when they played the baseball during raining with thunder. After that, the story started to hit up. My advice is that if you have not read the Twilight books, sure you cannot understand some of scenes and there were many loopholes and you begun wandering why like that, why like this.

Since my wife got fanatic with the movie, the following day we went to watch the sequence of the second Twilight movie- New Moon. Now I got fascinating with the new Werewolf guy “Jacob”. That’s I called a real man. Now I got clash with my wife since she really admired the Vampire Guy “Edward” and me leaner to the Werewolf guy “Jacob”.

The next third sequence of Twilight is next year 2010 during end of summer. The story will be a-must-watch-movie in 2010. The title is Eclipse. This Twilight movie has it own brand story.

Family Day in D’Sungai Lepoh Chalet & Kem, Hulu Langat

My company conducted a family day at D’Sungai Lepoh Chalet & Camp Kem in Hulu Langat, Selangor. An hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. To go there, you need to take the road toward Hulu Langat, pass through the Batu 18 Pekan, and then, pass through the junction to Sg Congkak. Then slowly drive straight another 3 km, you can see a small sign board states D’Sungai Lepoh Chalet on your left hand side. Careful, if you reach a small water dam office, you have missed the junction. After you enter the junction, follow the road until you reach the site.

The place is a very quiet place and good ambience. Plenty parking space with RM2/day, a open space tent with dining wooden table that can occupied 30 to 40 people, small food stall, small wooden chalet cost RM5/ day, small nice chalet cost RM30/ day, three man-made river pool next to the chalet, prayer room, clean toilet and much more.

One day in Genting Highlands

Today, we went to Genting Highlands for a day visit. My wife's brother-in-law sponsored the trip. Started our journey at 10.00 am. The day was drizzling little bit and we drove very slowly to escape unwanted skidding. There was a heavy mist and hardly to see. Reached there around 11.30 am. Nicely got parking under the One World Hotel. Unfortunately due to heavy mist, we cannot play outdoor games.

Just to share some photos…

100% Sampling Audit Work Is Value-Added Process??

The Risk Assessment (RA) exercise is quite tough since it involves participation from the management’s view of point on risk assessment exercise, existing controls and managment action plan. The RA is to provide information on the business plans, KPI, organization chart, processes and activities, P&P, financial information and so on. But the most important is the business objectives of the each management entity in the organisation.

Based on the business objectives, what is the main risks that prevent the achievement of the business objectives. What are the controls that have been established to control, mitigate, manage and transfer the risks. These controls are very important elements to determine the rating of the risks whether it is high, moderate or low. So, some risks are beyond the management control. These risks are called ‘inherent’ risks.

Friend that i remember...Zamzar

from left Zamri, Jaafar, Zamzar, me and Halimy

Today, I received a SMS from my former colleague that one of my former staff is in critical condition and requested to recite Surah Yassin for him. His name is Mohd Zamzar Abd Manap. A good employee who always try to learn and contribute the best to his work. Pray to Allah swt to give the strength.

I immediately called Jaafar, one of his former colleagues in Seremban to know how serious he was. Jaafar told me that Zamzar was fell sick last year and his condition continue deteriorated until last week, he was admitted. Last Tuesday he was released because his condition was getting serious and sliding away. His brother brought his back to his home town in Kuala Pilah.

I feel very sad to hear that all this while I thought he is ok because the last time I remembered I saw him when I went to Seremban last year. We had lunch together with other team members. That was my last visit to see my team in Seremban. The team leader Rosmah had left to other unit in Bangi. Zamzar transferred to other unit in Seremban. Jaafar is still hanging there.

This year I managed to call him once accidentally and he told me that he was very ill and hardly to work.  I told him to take care himself and control the food intake, and be patient and always 'berdoa' to Allah swt.

Zamzar, I hope and pray that you must stay strong…

H1N1 vs HAJJ

A few days ago I felt a little bit sick and went to a clinic nearby my hometown. The Indian guy doctor was quite nice and told me that I got a slight fever and give me some medicine to slowdown my temperature.

While he was checking me, we had a chit-chat on the H1N1 epidemic. I asked him how serious of the decease now. He smiled at me and told me that I should not be worry anymore seems that right now, the H1N1 is not a major threat anymore. The H1N1 virus has depleted from the face of the world, the doctor told me.

Malaysia Budget 2010 Not Favor To Middle Income Group

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced the Malaysia Budget 2010 on 23 October 2009 which falls on my birthday. What a coincident! The budget 2010 was aimed at making Malaysia a high-income economy and ensuring holistic and sustainable development.

Just to highlight a few measures especially in the tax relief and charges of RM50 for credit cardholders. I think the measures are ‘unfavorable’ to middle income group. Why I say so…

Financial Ratio Analysis - Good Reading

This article is taken from the website of University of Notre Dame (an independent, national Catholic university located in Notre Dame, Ind., adjacent to the city of South Bend and approximately 90 miles east of Chicago (http://nd.edu/)

It is difficult to infer organizational performance from one or two simple numbers. Nevertheless, in practice a number of different ratios are often calculated in strategic planning endeavors and, taken as a whole and with some caution, these ratios do provide some information about the relative performance of an organization. In particular, a careful analysis of a combination of these ratios may help you to distinguish between firms that will eventually fail and those that will continue to survive. Evidence suggests that, as early as five years before a firm fails, one may be able to detect trouble from the value of these financial ratios.

In this note, the basic financial ratios are reviewed, and some of the caveats associated with using them are highlighted. The ratios tend to be most meaningful when they are used to compare organizations within the same broad industry, or when they are used to make inferences about changes in a particular organization's structure over time.

DS Najib speech during the 60th UMNO Assembly

On 16 Oct 2009, the 60th UMNO General Assembly at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur has been overwhelmed by the speech by the UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to all UMNO members and audiences at large. The speech was unexpected from DSN and every and each word has its own meanings. The one that caught my attention was he talked about the return of Tan Sri Isa Samad into the battle of UMNO in winning the election poll in Bagan Pinang, Negeri Sembilan. In the election poll on 11 October last week, TSI under the flag of BN got a majority win over PAS candidate, Zulkefley Mohd Omar. The BN wining was expected because of the popularity of TSI in his own birth place and he is accepted by all the communities there since TSI was the former chief minister of Negeri Sembilan for 20 years. May be he had done a good deeds to the people of Bagan Pinang.

Back to DSN's speech over TSI, he told that TSI had been punished due to his guilty as charge in committing a money politic during the UMNO vice president contest in 2004. TSI has been hardly sentenced by stripping him from the post of chief minister of NS, and barring from any post in UMNO for 4 years. The punishment was found to be to harsh for a man who has been served many years to UMNO and the public. During that time, TSI wife was passed away. Pitty to TSI ... Dah jatuh, ditimpa tangga pula...

TSI took his fate in gentlemen way by accepting the decision made by the UMNO disciplinary committee and just remained silent. He still remained in UMNO and did not have attention to jump ship.

But when the time is right, he made the come back with a big limelight and a full of glory. Indian movies always show that the hero is defeated first round but will bounced back with a happy ending.

What DSN told in his speech is a noble thing where if the guy has been punished due to his wrongdoing. The guy cannot be punished for the second time or forever been punished. TSI should be given a second chance to prove that he still can contribute to UMNO and his own constitutions in Bagan Pinang.

The morale of the story,

Please give people a second chance, regardless your spouse, children, friends, colleagues, subordinates, and so on. And do not condemn them with negative things but to support them to change and improve.

Please look things positively when you face the lowest moment in your life. If you patient, seek guidance from Allah swt and do not loose your faith, Insya-Allah. Things can get better.

Three Key Elements of Internal Audit

Internal Audit has three key pillars in order to successfully carry out their roles and responsibility to the organisation, i.e. approach, resources and infrastructure.

1. Approach
a. Planning where to identify what areas are the top priority that needs to be audited (via Risk Management) and communication with the control owner (the Management) to establish responsibility and commitment.

b. Engagement related to the appraisal activities to test whether the controls and the management action plan are adequate and effective.

c. Monitoring involved engaging with the control owner (the Management), to improve their operations and reduce the recurrence of deficiency through reporting and follow up.

2. Resources
a. Responsible, experience and knowlegable Audit Managers

b. Competent and skillfull internal Audit Staff

c. Qualification and computer savvy

3. Infrastructure
a. Management Information System (MIS)

b. Data mining - sampling and red flags

c. System support and full access

All the above elements are equally important but not exhausted of other elements which more or less crucial depends on the individual perceptions. Will elaborate further the sub-element in future posting.

Why some Husband are naughty?

Yesterday got discussion with my wife regarding why some husbands are naughty, specifically where the husband quietly plays SMS with other women beside his wife. This is considered “main kayu tiga” in Malay.

What drive the husbands to cheat their wives by having affair with other women?

Mee Racun Gear Box Batu Pahat

I was on duty in Batu Pahat on 7 and 8 Oct 2009. Around 7.30 pm, the manager invited me for a quick dinner before role out for the day. He took me to this wooden stall at Taman Setia Jaya, next to the single storey terrace house. No not sure what is the address of the road. What I can remember is that if you want to go there, you need to go to Tesco, after you passed the Tesco, turn left if you from Batu Pahat town but if you from Ayer Hitam, you need to turn right. Then, you have to go straight until you reach a mosque next to your left, then quickly turn right. Go straight down at least 1 km until you reach shophouses at your right hand side, please look at your left, there is a stall but open your eyes widely because at glance, you cannot identify there is a stall there.

The manager ordered 2 Mee Racun Gear Box. It teasted like a mee bandung but more delicious when i took the first bite. The Mee Racun was accompanied by two Lamb gear box where the meat was so tender and sweet.

The manager told me that when he was 7 years old, his father took him to eat this Mee Racun. So it means it was 25 years ago since the manager was a year older than me. Previously the stall was located in town and it was operated by the father of the current owner. The owner now is his son who had the opportunity to continue the legacy of his father in selling the Mee Racun. I managed to talk to the owner but cannot recalled his name. I asked him whether the stall open on Saturday. He said yes and he asked me how the Mee Racun since he saw from my facial impression that i was so satisfied with the Mee Racun.

My uncle told me that there is a same stall located in Kuala Lumpur. I will find the place and try the Mee Racun. But I will still continue to come again to Batu Pahat and try this Mee Racun.

US Thunderbirds shows at RMAF Subang

On 3 October 2009, I brought the whole family to Royal Malaysian Air Force Subang to watch the air show of US Thunderbirds at the RMAF Subang. The traffic was so terrible but we managed to get a spot at the fence next to the runaway. Cannot find the entrance to RMAF.

We reached there around 8.30 am and have to wait until 10.30 am when the air show was started by our own proud jet fighter “Sukhoi”. There was a time when I was so amazing when the Sukhoi was hovering like helicopter at the sky facing the upward. After 20 minutes showing the acrobatic performance, the Sukhoi was safely landing and I was unable to take photo since both of my hands were occupied, one was holding an umbrella when the day start to raining and another one was holding my son's hand.

Then, we waited another 50 minutes for the US Thurderbirds. Both my son were complaining why we needed to wait since I knew that they were tired waiting. I told them that the US pilots were afraid of flying now because of rain.

Finally at 11.50 am, we saw 6 jet fighters marching before our eyes and we saw the pilots waving their hands to the crowd. Their 45 minutes air show performance by the US Thunderbirds was damn so fascinating and spectacular. I managed to take some photo but sorry to say if you were using a normal camera, the jet looked like a small fly at the open sky. My sons and I were so happy with the show.

The Glory of Machenster United

Who does not know ManU? Fans always call ManU the "RED DEVILS". ManU is one of the greatest football English team in the world.

Why ManU got that other teams do not have? ManU has all elements of successful organisation. There are...

Brilliant coach, Good players, Have vision, Teamwork, Recognition, Driven to achieve ultimate goal, Proven track record, Maintain good quality, Reputation, Outstanding performance, Killer instinct strikers, Good defense, Key players, Good technical formation, Strive to success, Consistency and so on .....

ManU made a single tremendous history that will be remember for the century when ManU became the first and only English team to win The Treble in 1999.  ManU won the English Premiership, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champion League. It was a unforgettable moment for die hart fans of ManU. The heart beats stopped a moment watching ManU scored 2 goals in few seconds during injury time in the final match against Bayern Munich in Champion League Final. Just imagine that Bayern Munich had led a goal through the 90 minutes until the injury time, ManU beat all the odds by scoring 2 last minute goals. Never give up...

The FA Cup final against Newcastle United and won 2–0 with goals from Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes.  The Premiership, ManU beat Tottenham Hotspur 2–1.

Then there were a few great and popular player like Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham, Roy Keane and Ronaldo. They were worshiped by the people around the world and become the icon of the great footballers in the world.

Sir Alex Ferguson, the most longest coach ever employed by ManU. He had became the ManU coach since 1988 until today. He has his own style in managing his team. He demanded that he has the single power to manage his team and asked no man other than him to built his ManU team. He built his own success and know how to manipulate, groom and utilise people to achieve his dreams.

Study should be made on how he succesfully transformed ManU from 'zero' to 'hero'?

Our Food Stake in Bernas owned by Foreigner??

Food Security is in stake - BERNAS is now being controlled by a foreign company based in Hong Kong.

How the hell that our main food (beras) is being controlled by foreigner? Can you believe that how in the earth this foreigner can hold majority of Bernas's shares? Who is the culprit be hide the mask of evil who willing to make money by selling off their shares to outsider without thinking that their action may jeopardize the people food? Shame of you of your action.

The government must realize now that other countries especially like the European and the West (E and W) are currently doing a stock pile where they currently buy a huge amount of beras from Thailand, Vietnam and other countries who main producer of beras. They are planning to do the same thing when they bought the currencies of Asian countries in 1996. In 1997, they outsmarted the Asian countries by selling off the currencies they bought earlier. Their action has paid off by making sure the Asian countries will have no value in their currencies.

Under the demand and supply theory, when the demand increases, the price increases and vice versa when the supply increases with no demand, the price decreases. E and W will do the same with the beras..

What will happen if there will be no more stock of beras and all have been stocked pile by E and W. Now you and I can LOL. We will beg from E and W to sell the beras to us because they have a lot. For producer countries, they even not bother to sell their beras to us because they have a future contract to sell their beras to the E and W.

The countries will go bankrupt or to conduct a barter trade where our country need to sell off our precious commodities like palm oil or petroleum or gases at the low price as compared to the exchange rates of the selling price of beras by E and W. Even better, the people of Malaysia will start to eat ‘ubi kayu’ like Japanese evasion in Malay from 1941 to 1945.

When the country has the problem in getting the beras, there was an effort by the Government to launch a country-wide effort in building a mass paddy field or a mega project in paddy agriculture industry. Sometime the word is bigger than the action. Where is the status of the project now? Sometime, I am afraid that one day, my grandchildren will be suffering in getting beras in their own soil.

Try observe for the next couple of month or years… the price of beras will keep rising like our petrol price.

Pakatan vs BN

The fact that now the politic turmoil in Malaysia comes into fire and highskying with totally emberassing and humiliation. Regardless whether you are Pakatan or BN, both have shown some disrespect about the culture, values, religion and humanity.

I do not belong to any politic party and I remain neutral. However, I only try to get the best of current moment now where I am still breathing to ensure that I can stay support my life with my wife, and support my children until they get married, and retire happily and die happily.

My best option is I think that if the current government does not do their work effectively in making our life secured, cost of living is manageable, our children can get easy education, the crime rate is low and so on. I can make the huge lists if I want too but just go back to the basic which imply the Maslow’s the hierarchy of needs talked about the human Basic of Needs.

What I need the Malaysian do is to give chance to both political parties to rule this country. If they cannot rule for the first 5 years term, we give back to the other political party to rule and the story will goes on, goes on. This is the best solution to both political parties because the political party who really want to rule Malaysia, must make sure they know what the expectation of the RAKYAT. Both of the political parties will do their best in their jobs if they are given the mandate to rule Malaysia.

Why we do not want to use our RAKYAT power? We pay taxes and the taxes should go the projects that benefit RAKYAT and not to make somebody rich in seconds.   Have you watched the Ali Baba Bujang Lapuk!! … For those who have a dream in entering the politic to get rich, by all means you can just say “yaa in seng mate karge semara een seng”, the cave door will open and you can grab what ever you want.

But just remember what ever you can get now you cannot bring it inside your “lubang kubur”. There are three deeds that follow you after death, i.e. beneficial knowledge and righteous offspring who will pray for him.

Come on…there is why when you want to become the president of the United States of America, you must be damn rich and wealthy first because you need money to go out campaign to be the president. I love my country Malaysia so much and even I had stayed in US for 3 years pursuing my study, I still want to go back to Malaysia and die here as a Malaysian.

Back to the story…

You and all of us in Malaysia have the power of choice. Please choose wisely every 5 years. Or we can rotate the two political parties in 5 years term, see which one is better. What I can see is that they will do better and better because their future is under our hands. So, it is a win-win situation where the political parties have the chance to rule and the Rakyat can continue get the benefit… just think about it.

You can see what the American do during the election, the rotate the Democrat and Republican every 8 years.  Both parties have to do excellence every year to win the heart of American.  I read the book about Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York.  In his book, he tell how to be a better mayor by doing the best to the New Yorkers.  They will vote you if you can provide better shelter to them.

Another thing, the above theory will success if… freedom in the Judiciary System, freedom in Chief Secretary from the control of Prime Minister. In Malaysia, there should be three powerful people on the top of the list to apply triple controls. Everyone has to bind the rules or you cannot bend the rules, if you dare to cross the line, your contract end and you will go to prison.

Amy Search Concert Finally Live in Kuala Lumpur

On 1 August 2009, around 7 pm, my wife and I went to Search Concert held at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Polo Club. I am a big fan of Search. Believe or not, most of the fans who came to the concert were almost a group of middle age person around 35 to 45 years olds. 23 years ago, we all sang the popular songs like “Isi dan Kulit”, “Rozanna”, “Gadis Ku”, “Seroja” and the most top “Mentari di Ufuk Timur” and the most unforgettable “Isabella”.

The hassle of going to this concert was the traffic jam. They gave you a big headache. I parked my car quite far from the Equestrian Polo Club and we walked almost 2 km away. What to do… diehard fan. Then, once we wanted to enter the main entrance, there were too many people and the security people who in charge at the entrance was so ‘pain in the a…”. People cramped like sardine, pushing here, pushing there. The smell can make you puke. Luckily my wife was there to assist me even she was petite but her voice can reach KLCC. She yelled left and right to give her a space to slot in through the crowd and passed the security entrance.

We walked to the centre of the padang and we can see the stage in front of us. We sat almost 2 hours before the concert started at 9.45 pm due to the Search members cannot passed through the traffic jam and they had to brought in by motorcycles.

The first two songs was so ‘big bang’ and suddenly blacked out for 20 minutes. Did not know what had happened but the next thing was the song sang after the black out was so poor quality in term of the speakers they used. I thought the main speaker was exploited and they had to use back up speakers.

But even the speakers was sound like ‘sengau’ but Amy “the pewiiiiit” and ever-green rock star managed to outperform and we liked the ways he controlled the mood of the audiences.

After 2 hours standing, we walked away from the concert after “Isabella”. Little bit satisfied and little bit disappointed. How do you feel if you are watching the concert on the horse fieldyard where the field is used for horses to play, run, take shit and pee.

My advice to the organizer, they need to know whose the audiences and whose are the people who are willing to buy the tickets to see Amy Search. All of them must at least around my age and we are all a little bit old and cannot stand so long (lutut sudah gonyang). Some of us also brought kids along because majority of us have married and got kids. I can see some of the audiences who same age with me brought their kids along with them to watch the concert. Next time please do the concert in a stadium or any place that got seat to sit. Please no on the grass anymore.... People like us are willing to pay extra if we can sit and enjoy the concert. It is more like nostalgia for us to sing the old songs together with Amy Search. PeeeWhiiiiiitttttttt.....

Death of Teoh Beng Hock

A young Chinese man was killed when he was called for giving statement as witness by SPRM (Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission). His name is Teoh Beng Hock, his was the political secretary to Selangor executive council member, Ean Yong Hian Wah, the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson from the DAP. DAP is one of the coalition party under Pakatan Rakyat.

Teoh was found dead outside the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam, Selangor. He was 30 and he is going to get marry a day before his death on 16 July 2009.

Chronological events of Teoh’s death:

15 July 2009
The Selangor MACC, investigating allegations of misappropriation of state allocations, had raided Yong's office. Teoh was questioned as a witness at the state MACC office in Plaza Masalam later that day.

16 July 2009
A janitor found Teoh's body on the fifth floor of the building At about 1.30pm. The police are investigating the case.

Teoh’s death is one of the ‘truth picture’ that Allah swt wants to show if you do a sin and another sin and another sin to other human being because of your dishonest purposes, there will be at the time, an mistakable event will took place and it will shook your head and your stomach. Like Malay phrase … “Sepandai-pandai Tupai Melompat, Akhirnya Jatuh ke Tanah juga…”

I do not want to put to many baseless assumptions of what had happened but believe me, someone is covering someone else shit or to cover his own shit (sorry for using unpleasant words).

The only thing that I want to say is how can you take one man life for the sake to topple one state government? I do not know what is your purpose but I just guessing… regardless whether he is Chinese or Indian or Malay, you do not have the right to take his life or claiming that he had committed suicide or to make ‘ridiculous’ remarks of his death.

I heard they interviewed his fiancĂ©, family and friends to develop some ‘reasons’ of ‘explanation’ to connect that he was committing suicide… what a cheap tactic!!

The only thing that hurting the heart of all Malaysian is that why you need desperately to topple the State Government by scarifying a man life. You may success in State of Timah because of the two Malays who you have successfully converted to your end are a real corrupted and spoiled people who only think about themselves… they only want the short term win.. what to do, it is a normal Malay thinking…lazy and want to get rich fast…

Are you not thinking that the man who you wanted to hurt may has a wife, kids, father, mother... What is the value of a life.... 9 months in his mother’ womb, 2 years in kidder garden, 6 years in primary and secondary schools respectively, 5 years in college and university and finally, just a blink of your eyes, he is dead because of your damn foolish mistake. How heart-breaking of his mother and father?

No parents want to see the funeral of their children...

By the way, you may escape the world law but you cannot escape the judgment day by Allah swt.

Abolish PPSMI - right decision or wrong decision made by Government

Surprise me and all Malaysians on the decision made by the Government this evening, where they announced that the PPSMI (Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris) will be ceased by 2012.

First of all, the purpose of implementing PPSMI is to ensure that all students regardless of their races and geographical should be able to master effectively the ideology and principle in Science and Mathematics. On top of that, the students would be able to improve their proficiency in English especially in term of the language and vocabulary in Science and Mathematics.

This is because that all reading materials, references, ideas, concepts, fundamental and forums for Science and Mathematics are in English, moreover other subjects related to Science and Mathematics such as computer, technology, engineering, architect, accounting, auditing and financial are in English.

Sad and disappointed with the demolition of PPSMI will directly demolish the future of our children. How to achieve the full developed country if our children are lacking in English- the common and frequent language used by the majority of the world population?

Some rakyat do not realize that all these top people in parliaments, ministries, politic parties, top ten GLCs, blue-chip companies and etc are laughing on the demolition of PPSMI because their children would not affected. You know why?? All their children are schooling in the International Schools where the medium of language used is in English. So, stop PPSMI or yes PPSMI is not their cup of tea and they do not care less. The only thing they know is that their children will continue to success in the future with their excellent in speaking, writing and listening in English. Contrarily with the children of others. They know that if everybody successful in English, who want to be the lower class people (kuli, pengawal, basuh pinggan, bawa bus, sapu sampah... lu pikir lah sendiri kata Nabil).

I am the good example of the poor decision made by the Government when they decided to change all subjects teach in school from Bahasa Inggeris to Bahasa Malaysia. My English standard is below than the standard of my father and my father-in-law. Both of them are very proficient in English. When both of them are talking, I cannot join them because they use a good, prefect and British-accent English.

I realized the important of English when I studied in ITM Dungun. Just imagine 6 years in Primary school and 5 years in Standard school, i care less about English. Prior to ITM, I did not know what are ‘present-tense’, ‘past-tense’ and so on. I got a very bad result in English during SRP and SPM. I hated the language and sometimes during schooling day, the English subject is not one of my top priorities. I used to speak Malay at home, school and all my friends are Malays and we hardly communicate each other in English.

For the 3 years in ITM, I learned very hard to improve my English. Finally I passed my TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and that was my ticket to study oversea. In 1994, Yabba-dabba-doo! I managed to enroll my study in Michigan, USA. Stayed there for 3 years. I surprised everyone including my parents where they did not see that I have the future to go oversea since they know that I quite poor in English.

So, the morale of the story is that English makes you perfect… without it, I do not deny that you cannot success but if you have it, it will give you the key of success, it will help you to open the door of opportunities, i.e. career, life-partner, promotion, respect, knowledgeably, friendships, and more and more ...

By learning Science and Mathematics in English, I can see that my son aged 10 years old can speak and write English better than me when i was at his age.... Melayu tolonglah fikir sikit.....

V for Vendetta shoud be banned because insulting Quran

I accidentally watched a movie titled "V for Vendetta", a 2005 a super hero film, in TV3 last night. The story was based from a graphic novel by David Lloyd. The story-telling is about a freedom fighter known as ‘V’ uses terrorist tactics to fight the cruel ruling government in UK. V plans to kill all the people who had involved in capturing, torturing and lab-testing of him and other innocent people. V rescues a young woman from the secret police, and she becomes his unlikely ally. They fell in love and at the end of the day, the bad boys got killed, also V but his dream were fulfilled by blowing up the Parliament building. The young woman survived and a half happy ending.

While I was watching the movie, I noticed there were something amiss in the scripts. There were two scenes that the scripts were clearly offended Muslim by touching the perception of Muslim and possession of the Quran.

The Quran is a religious text of Islam which gives guidance and direction for mankind. Quran is a miracle of the prophet of Muslim people, Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. It was written down to Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. in Mecca in 653 CE. The Quran was revealed by Jibril (Malaikat). Quran got 114 Surah and offers detailed accounts of historical events, the do’s and don’ts things, and advices and guidance, the ways of life, the story of end of worlds, heaven and hell, the 5 pillars of Muslim; utterance of 2 kalimah syahadat, praying, fasting, almsgiving and perform hajj in Mecca.

The scripts that offended Muslim and the Quran are:

a. When the Man who known as the voice of London, expressly talked about the list of terrorists, bad people, diseases and etc in TV show. He mentioned that Muslim is one of the ‘bad’ lists.

What is the damaging factor?

His word is damaging the image of Muslim. He considered that Muslim people are one of the dangerous people like terrorists.

b. When the young woman’s friend who temporary gives shelter to the young woman after escaped from V, the man was killed by the Government because he keeps the Quran in his house.

What is the damaging factor?

The message behind the action taken by the Government by killing innocent people who keeps the Quran in their home is totally unfair about the Quran. This gives a totally untruth conceptual of the holding Quran. It embedded to the people’s mind around the world that if you are holding the Quran in your home, you are against the Law and can be sentenced to death.

I remembered when I was in USA in 1996, after completing my study, I was working part-time at Shell Station. One night during winter season, very cool and breezing, an old white American lady approached me at the counter seeking for help. Her car’s tire was punctured and she needed me to change the tire. I got out from the counter and helped her. After I finished, she thanked me and asked me what country I from and what my religion is. I told her that I from Malaysia, and she did not know where is Malaysia but when I told her that Malaysia is located north of Singapore and south of Thailand. Then she nodded her head and told me that she know where Singapore and Thailand are.

Surprisingly, when I told her that I am a Muslim, she stepped back few steps from me and her face turned red. She was shock to understand that I am a Muslim. She told me in fear that her understanding of Muslim is that the Muslim got weird mustache and untidy beard with ugly face, wore turban and dark long cloth (jubah), holding a gun and likes to kill people and children and rape woman and young girl.

I looked at her and explained to her that she got the wrong idea about Muslim. She looked at me deeply into my eyes and told me to convert to Christian since I was a nice boy and I am not supposed to be a Muslim. I smiled to her and rejected her proposal nicely and told her no thanks, I like to be a Muslim and there is a lot of beauty as a Muslim. I walked away with a thousand smile and she stood there looked puzzle in her mind.

Back to V for Vendetta, I wondering why TV3 and RTM did not realize this and ban the movie?

Played golf with Zul Yahya, the Papaya Actor

I supposed to play golf today with my friends at Monterez but last minute I have to cancel because late minute personal matter. I have a good memory to share where on 29 May 2009, my friends and I planned to play golf at Monterez. At 5.45 pm, MA Annuar was already there. I was still driving to Monterez from my office. The road was so traffic jam. I diverted to Jalan Samantan road after I saw the road toward to Jalan Duta to exit Plaza Toll was heavy with traffic. My relief was temporary because after Damansara Toll Plaza, the traffic jam made me to puke. I called MA Annuar and he told me that Noorezam was still at the office. Halimy cannot be contacted.

Monterez GCC is located at near the Bukit Jelutong, Bukit Cerakah, Shah Alam. Strategically located within 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, 20 minutes from Petaling Jaya and Klang, 10 minutes from Subang Jaya and 5 minutes from Shah Alam. If you have eaten at this western restaurant named Big Plate Restaurant, you know how to go there. From Kuala Lumpur, if turn right you will go to Big Plate but if you turn left, you will enter the road to the entrance of Monterez GCC.

MA Annuar and I started to play Golf at 7.45 pm. Halimy considered MIA (Missing In Action). Noorezam arrived late when we were at the 4th tee off. When we at 7th tee off, came one guy introduced himself Zul Yahya. Very thin guy, very polite and humble person. The guy was damn good where he can tee off like pro. He also gave me some tips how to swing my driver.

I told MA Annuar and this guy face look familiar seem like Zul Yahya, the actor. So after played until the 17th hole than we realized that he is the actor ... ZUL YAHYA because he were asking where do we work. We told him that we are working at this company... Then, he said that last month he had done some shooting at our work place for “Anugerah Berita Harian”. Then we took pictures before we ended our golf play at 18th hole.

Collect School Report Card

Today, my wife and I went to my son's school to collect his report card. First thing we do is to get the queue number from the registration counter. My son went there first because I was searching for the parking. My wife was rushing to get queue.

Once I got parking, I went to the registration counter and I saw my son was having a trouble with the receptionist. I asked what the commotion is about. The receptionist told me that she had given a queue number which is a number 12 to my son but my son insist to get a number 14. I looked to my son and suddenly I realized why my son wanted to get the number 14. Actually, my son got class rating of number 14 in his latest mid term exam. I explained to the receptionist and they smiled to my son. My son looked at me with a thousand questions in his mind. Then we went to the school hall to meet the teacher.

The hall is crowded with people who waiting their number to be called. While waiting our number to be called, we chit chat with other parents.

Once our turn to meet the teacher, the teacher told us our son performance. It surprises us when our son's result is not that good. The failed subject is Arabic.

My wife was so not happy with our son's result and started to give lecture. My son was standing quitely next to me hoping that I will defend him. I also told him that he needs to improve himself in his study because maybe he always plays games resulting in his poor performance in his exam.

I remembered my schooling time 25 years ago where my parents were not required to come to school to collect my report card. We had to bring it to home and to show it to our parents. The scary thing was that when we got bad results. To show to our parents was a nightmare, last thing you remembered when your buttock have belt signatures from your father. How thing is had changed now...

Sometimes, I remembered that I tried to cheat by learning my father's signature. Scrabbling until I became expert. But at the end, I realized that is not that you had cheated your parents and your teacher but yourself. It changed the whole thing by putting your effort in improving yourself by getting best result in your exam. Then you are proud to show your report card to your parent.
